Shorts in the full player with advertisements, promoted videos that play as spots, the audio track of a YouTube video, a deletion that leaves nothing behind, and a Bandwidth monitor

Every Short plays in the AIO Player now, with advertisements between and before them; a promoted video can play as a skippable spot in the player and in Shorts; a YouTube video dubbed into other languages shows an Audio track row; removing a video removes every file and every trace of it; and a new plugin shows how much bandwidth the server uses and how to use less.

• Added Every Short in the feed is an AIO Player: the same quality, advertisements, watermark, gestures and settings menu as the watch page, with a small gear in the corner; a player is made only when its Short comes near the screen

A PlayTube site moves in with every address kept, a What's new page, and plugins that say where they come from

The move from PlayTube was built again from nothing: it can run right after installing or any time later, shows every step with the time left, and afterwards every old link - /watch/title_ID.html, /v/code, /@name?page=liked-videos - opens the same thing, on the same domain or a new one.

• Added Addresses the PlayTube way (Settings - SEO - Addresses): the site writes /watch/title_ID.html, /v/code, /embed/ID, /videos/category/N, /articles/read/title_ID.html and /@name?page=..., so a link is what it was on PlayTube and only the domain may differ
• Added A video that came from PlayTube gets the very slug PlayTube made of its title; measured against a live PlayTube site's own sitemap, 1,834 of 1,836 addresses came out letter for letter
• Added A middle setting: the site keeps its own addresses and an old PlayTube link is sent on to the new one with a permanent redirect
• Added The old domain: listed once, a visitor who arrives on it is sent to the same address on the new one
• Added Every address that is not a file is worked out by the site itself (link.php), with a page of its own for "not found"

Faster pages, premium sizes that come by themselves, advertisements that survive content blockers, and "Watching now"

Pages ask the database about half as much as before. Members on a paid package get the resolutions kept for premium members, and Auto goes up a size when the connection carries it. Advertisements can be your own HTML or a Google AdSense unit - your own are drawn under names that change every day - and a member on an ad-free package sees none at all. The panel shows who is watching what at this moment, from where, on what, and how much data goes to each.

• Improved The list of tables and columns is read once and kept in a small file: a signed-in page asked the database's catalogue a dozen times, and asks it nothing now

A member's Settings in full, Switch account, Geo-blocking, resolutions for members, a whole YouTube channel in one import, private messages

The member's Settings page has everything in one place - privacy, two-step sign-in, sessions, blocked users, a copy of their information, deleting the account, affiliates - and one browser can stay signed in to several accounts. Uploaders can close a video to parts of the world; the site's owner decides which resolution is for everyone, for signed-in members and for premium members. A YouTube channel comes over whole, playlists and Shorts included, and a new plugin lets members write to each other. The watch page no longer jumps while it loads and the player starts by itself.

Cron that works with whichever php the host has, conversion that carries on after a stop, a quicker Balanced mode, a site that stays quick

The one cron line now works with the CGI php that a plain "php" is on most cPanel servers - the reason a correctly added line did nothing - and the page can test the line and say what it answers. While the line is not arriving the site runs its own jobs from the pages people open. FFmpeg encodes in pieces and carries on from the last finished one after any stop; Balanced takes about half the time and copies what is already small. Nothing long holds the visitor's session any more, and the web server can be handed the video files.

• Fixed Cron: the line was refused with "Wrong key" when the server's "php" is the CGI build (the usual case on cPanel), so nothing ran until Run everything now was pressed; a shell is now told from a visitor by the visitor, not by the kind of php
• Added Cron: the line is written with the command-line php of the site's own version, found by the site; Test this line runs it and shows the answer; curl and wget lines for hosts that can only fetch an address
• Added Cron: while the line is not arriving, the pages people open ask the site to run what is due - once a minute, after the page is drawn - and the Cron page says which of the two is keeping the jobs going
• Improved Run now and Run everything now run one job per request and paint each result in place; a long job (conversion, the LAN cache) is started in the background from a web request, comes last in a cron run, and is never started twice
• Added FFmpeg carries on after a stop: a video is encoded in eight-second pieces kept as they are finished; a restart, a time limit or a killed worker costs seconds, and Try again carries on too
• Improved FFmpeg Balanced takes about half the time (a quicker preset at the same ceilings), and an upload that is already H.264 and already small at its own size is copied in seconds instead of being encoded again; the seek-bar pictures read key frames only
• Added A host that cannot start a background worker converts in short slices, each web cron call carrying on from the last
• Added A file the FTP file server would not take is sent again by a cron job and plays from the site meanwhile
• Fixed While a video was being sent, every other page the same visitor opened waited for it: the session is let go before anything long - sending a video, receiving a piece of an upload, the calls a page repeats
• Improved FFmpeg runs at a low priority, so the website keeps the processor while videos convert
• Added Speed & security: the web server (LiteSpeed, Apache mod_xsendfile, nginx) can be handed the guarded video files after PHP has checked the request; a button finds out which way works on the server and only then switches it on
• Fixed The channel banner made a phone page wider than the phone (a minimum height beside a fixed shape became a minimum width of 546 px)
• Improved Thumbnails: an upload tile worth the name with drag and drop, the member's own picture as a tile among the frames with a bin to take it off again, the picture an import brought kept as "Original", in the wizard and on the edit page

Imported videos in our own player, fast uploads, conversion you can watch, Cloudflare and the basics

YouTube videos brought in from YouTube play inside the site's own player, with its controls, its mid-roll advertisements and nothing that says YouTube. Big files upload with several large pieces on their way at once, past php.ini's limits. The admin watches every conversion live - how far, which size, how long to go, what waits, what failed and why - and FFmpeg makes smaller files at the same resolution. Cloudflare, a robot check, HTTPS, caching and visitor counting have their own settings tab.

Requests, promotion, mid-roll ads and cards, live recordings saved, a panel that fits a phone

Members ask for the verified tick and for monetization from their Studio and the site team approves. A member can pay to promote a video. The player carries YouTube-like mid-roll ad breaks and cards. A browser live stream plays for everyone and its recording is saved as a video, converted like any upload. The sitemap is written to disk once a day. Every admin page fits a phone.

• Added Verification requests: a channel that clears the bar (subscribers, videos, views, days) asks from the Studio; Admin → Verification requests approves or declines with a word back

The upload page is rebuilt: files go up in parallel pieces with speed and time shown, links from every major site come across with their picture and text, and each video has a monetization switch. The member Studio matches YouTube Studio. The download guard now refuses download managers outright. The PlayTube migration reaches version 3.
