AIO Video documentation
Everything you need to install, set up and run AIO Video.
Getting started
1
Requirements
What the server needs: PHP 7.4 or newer (8.1+ recommended), MySQL or MariaDB, a few extensions, writable folders, optional FFmpeg, disk space and upload limits.
2
Installation
Installing with install.php: the server check, the database, the licence key and the first administrator, the PlayTube starting point, and what the installer writes.
3
The licence key
Activating the key, Admin → License, what each state means, the grace window, premium plugins, moving to another domain and servers without a CA bundle.
4
The admin panel
A tour of the panel - top bar, menu groups, the bell, the dashboard, light and dark, search - and a checklist for the first day.
Videos and the site
5
Uploading and importing videos
The four-step upload wizard, fast uploads in pieces, importing from YouTube and other sites, whole-channel import, drafts, planned publishing and thumbnails.
6
Video conversion
Setting up FFmpeg, choosing resolutions and file size, the live conversion queue, keeping disk space free and moving files to an FTP file server.
7
The watch page
Buttons, chapters, playlists, comments, share and embed, downloads and the download guard, who may watch which resolution, geo-blocking and videos for grown-ups.
8
The Studio
The member's Studio for content, analytics and comments, plus verification and monetization requests and paid video promotion.
9
Themes and the look of the site
The AIO Classic and YouTube themes, Admin → Themes and its preview, home page blocks, menus, the footer and credit, and making a theme of your own.
10
Settings
The tabs of Admin → Settings that matter: general, content, downloads, SEO and sitemap, speed and security, e-mail and its templates, support and contact.
11
Members and memberships
Users and roles, e-mail confirmation, membership packages, the wallet and withdrawals, two-step sign-in and sessions, and the What's new page.
Keeping it running
12
Updating to a new version
Backing up, uploading the new files, running db_update.php, finishing off, plugins and themes, and what to do when something goes wrong.
13
Scheduled jobs
The one cron line, which php to use, web-cron addresses, the site's own heartbeat when there is no cron, Admin → Cron jobs and every job.
14
Languages
Language files and the Bengali that comes with the script, the picker for visitors, translating every phrase at once, numbers in phrases, right-to-left languages.
15
Troubleshooting
Common problems and their fixes: 404 pages, licence SSL, cron, FFmpeg, uploads, a full disk, slow streaming, Cloudflare, e-mail, a lost password, a new domain.
Plugins
16
PlayTube Migration
Moves a whole PlayTube site into AIO Video - members, videos, comments, views, money - and keeps every old link working.
17
Live Streaming
Members go live from the browser, from OBS or with a YouTube, Facebook or Twitch live, with live chat and recordings saved as videos.
18
Advertising & Monetization
Ads on pages and in the player, campaigns members buy themselves, tips and gifts, wallet top-ups, creator earnings and payouts.
19
Shorts
Short upright videos in a full-screen swipe player, recognised by themselves, with a home page shelf, a channel tab and ads between Shorts.
20
Mobile API
A JSON API with token sign-in for your own Android or iPhone app: its settings, app keys, every route, errors and code samples.
21
AIO Player
The site's YouTube-like player: the default player, watermark, gestures and shortcuts, mid-roll ad breaks, cards, and YouTube videos in your own controls.
22
Point System
Members earn points for views, likes, comments, uploads and referrals, and exchange them for wallet balance at the rate you set.
23
Movies & Series
A streaming-style catalogue of films and series with posters, cast, trailers, seasons, episodes and members-only titles.
24
LAN Cache
Keeps a nearby copy of the media that is watched, so videos keep playing when the file server or the origin site is down.
25
Mobile Apps
Build your own app: an installable web app, Android and iPhone projects that build on GitHub, and signing in on a computer with a QR code.
26
Messages
Private messages between members, with rules on who may write, limits and banned words, and every conversation visible in the panel.
27
Bandwidth Monitor
How much the server sends - by day, kind, country, address, member and video - and the ways to send less of it.
