Settings

Admin → Settings decides how the site behaves. Each of its eleven tabs saves on its own.

General

• Site name, Tagline (বাংলা), Tagline (English) and Site e-mail.
• Send notices to: where new comments, donations to confirm and contact messages are reported. Empty: the site e-mail.
• Main language: what visitors see first. See Languages.
• Colour mode: Follow the device, Light or Dark.
• Time zone and Blog posts per page.
• Visitors can create an account and New accounts wait for approval.
• Maintenance mode with its Notice: visitors see the notice, administrators still see the site, and the sign-in page stays open.

Permalinks

• Quran addresses: Short (/2/255), With "quran" (/quran/2/255) or With the surah name (/surah/al-baqarah/255).
• Blog post addresses: /blog/post-title, /blog/12/post-title or /blog/2026/09/post-title.
• Section addresses: the first word of the Blog, Donate, Surah information, Learning, Audio, Prayer times, Tools and Media studio pages.

Old addresses keep working and redirect to the new ones. Update menu links that point at an old address.

Quran reading

What a first-time reader of the Quran sees; every reader can change it in the reader's own settings. See The Quran.

• What visitors see first: for Bengali visitors and English visitors, which Translations and which Pronunciation are shown.
• Arabic text: Font, Arabic size (px), Translation size (px) and Script (Uthmani with every mark, or Simple without diacritics).
• Main Bengali translation and Main English translation, used in shares, pictures and the ayah of the day.
• Ayah of the day: your own list, such as 2:255, 94:5. Empty: a built-in list of 30 ayahs.
• Open JSON API: lets apps and other sites read the Quran data from /api/.

Prayer times

The calculation method, Asr, the minutes to add or take away, sehri and iftar, the Hijri adjustment, the default place, and what the screen in the mosque shows. All of it is explained in Prayer times and the mosque screen.

SEO & Sitemap

• Home page title (meta title), Meta description, Keywords and the SEO / share image (1200×630, used when a page has no picture of its own).
• Hide the site from search engines: only while the site is being prepared.
• Google Analytics (a G-… ID or the whole snippet; administrators are not counted), the Google, Bing and Yandex verification codes and the Facebook App ID.
• Sitemap: /sitemap.xml, with every surah and ayah, the blog, the lessons and the pages. Generate now writes it at once; Regenerate every day (scheduled job) keeps it fresh. Your own robots.txt can be written here too.

E-mail

Sending:

• Email sending method: PHP Mail (the server's own) or SMTP. SMTP with a mailbox on your own domain is far more reliable.
• From name, From e-mail (an address on your own domain) and Language of e-mails to you.
• SMTP: Host, Port (587 for TLS, 465 for SSL), Encryption, Username and Password. For Gmail use an app password. A saved password stays when its box is left empty.

Test Email Configuration: save first, enter an address in Send a test to and press Send test e-mail. Recent e-mails shows the last eight, sent or failed with the reason.

E-mail templates: every e-mail the site sends (welcome, password reset, donations, contact replies, notices to you, and the frame around them all), each in Bengali and English.

• Edit opens one: the Subject and text in both languages (HTML allowed), and Send this e-mail (off: never sent). Click a placeholder such as {name} or {site} to insert it. The frame must keep {content_html}.
• Preview (বাংলা), Preview (English) and Send me a test use sample values. Restore the original puts a built-in template back.
• Add a template makes one of your own, to use as a saved reply under Messages.

Contact & spam

The details beside the contact form, and the spam wall around it: the visible check, the quiet checks, limits, blocked words and addresses, who may use the form, confirmation by e-mail and the block list. See Blog, pages, comments and messages.

Comments

Comments on the blog, Visitors can comment without an account, New comments wait for approval, Signed-in members are published straight away and E-mail me when a comment is waiting. Comments with more than two links are held as spam.

Share images

The picture made for each ayah when it is shared on Facebook, WhatsApp and elsewhere, also used by the social auto-poster: four colours or a Background picture (optional), the Language, Translation and Bottom line, Islamic star pattern behind the text and Show the pronunciation too.

The Preview shows Ayatul Kursi. Pictures are drawn on the server; Draw pictures in this browser opens a page that draws them in your browser, where joined Bengali letters come out perfectly. Leave it open while it works.

Media studio

For the ayah image and video maker at /media:

• Starting background, colours, Starting voice for videos, and Who may use the image & video maker (Everyone or Only signed-in members).
• Voices — men only: Speak translations with a man's voice, a voice per language and Speed (%). Without a key the free voice service of the Edge browser is used; an optional Azure Speech key and Region use the official service. Spoken files are kept in cache/tts/.
• Show the website address, Show the logo, the Website line and Logo for pictures. Visitors can move them, not remove them.
• Background library: pictures and short videos (up to 60 MB) visitors can put behind the ayahs.

Advanced

• Custom CSS (loaded after the theme), Code in <head> and Code before </body>.
• Installable as an app, App name under the icon (up to 12 characters) and Refresh the app's saved files on every phone.
• Let page views run the jobs when there is no cron and PHP binary for the cron line. See Scheduled jobs.
