AIO প্লেয়ার ও শর্টস

Every video on the site plays in the AIO Player: in the feed, on a post, on the watch page and in Shorts. The same plugin adds the Shorts feed.

What members get

• A player that keeps the shape of the video: wide videos stay wide, upright videos stay upright.
• Videos in the feed start muted when they scroll into view and stop when they scroll away. A tap gives the sound back. Only one video plays at a time.
• Speed, quality and picture-in-picture, a mini player when scrolling away on a desktop, keyboard shortcuts, double-tap to seek on a phone.
• Carry on where a member left off: the player remembers the position.
• A watch page for each video with the description, reactions, comments and what to watch next.
• Shorts: a full-screen feed of upright videos that you swipe through, with reactions, comments and share.

Settings

Admin → Plugin pages → AIO Player. The page shows a live preview: what you change is what the player shows.

Look

• Accent colour of the played line and the play button. Empty uses the brand colour of the site.
• Logo on the play button: a square PNG with a transparent background works best.
• Watermark: a picture or a line of text over the video. Choose a corner or drag it on the preview to place it by hand. Set its opacity, and whether it fades out with the controls.

Controls and playback

Switches for the download button, the quality menu, the picture-in-picture button, keyboard shortcuts, the right-click menu, looping, the mini player and resuming.

Shorts

• Shorts on adds Shorts to the side menu, the Create menu and the Videos page.
• Add every upright video to Shorts does it automatically, up to Longest Short (seconds).
• Members add or remove one of their own video posts from Shorts through the post menu.
• Every Short shows how many times it was watched (a play counts once per viewer and day, like the watch page). Its Share button opens the site's Share menu: share now, share with a comment, share to your story, copy the link, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram and X.

Advertisements in videos

The player has five places for an advertisement: before the video, at breaks in the middle, after it, as a banner over it, and while it is paused.

Mid-roll breaks

• Mid-roll breaks on, and Only on videos longer than (minutes).
• A break every (minutes), or fixed minute marks such as 5, 12, 20.
• Most breaks in one video keeps long videos watchable.
• No mid-roll advertisement? Play the before-video one at the breaks fills the breaks when you have only one advertisement.

Where the advertisements come from

• The Ads & Promotions plugin fills these places with your own campaigns, with ad networks and with posts that members promoted. See the chapter Ads and promotions.
• The House ad tab of the player holds one advertisement of your own: a picture or an MP4, a link, and where it shows. It is enough to promote your own page or product without the Ads plugin.

Numbers

The settings page shows plays today, over the last 7 and 14 days, and the most played videos. Keep events for (days) sets how long the play log is kept; Clear the log empties it.

Converting videos

The player plays MP4 (H.264) everywhere. With FFmpeg set up on Admin → Settings → Posts & uploads, other formats are converted after upload and a thumbnail is made. Without FFmpeg ask members to upload MP4.

For plugin authors

Give the player advertisements through the aio_player_ads filter. Each one is an array with id, kind (video, image or html), when (pre, mid, post, overlay or pause), src or html, link, skip, seconds and label. The player reports impressions, clicks and skips through the aio_ad_event action.
