One key runs one Quran CMS site. The key comes from license.faruk.bd, where you also buy plugins and themes, renew your licence and move it to another domain.

The key

The key looks like QCMS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. You find it in your account at license.faruk.bd. The installer activates it, so on a new site there is nothing more to do. Keys for plugins and themes bought on their own start with QCMP- and are added separately (see below).

The License page

Admin → License (in the System group). The card This installation shows the key (partly hidden), the Domain, the Package, who it is Licensed to, when it Expires (or Never (lifetime)), when it was Last checked, Works offline until (see below), any Message from the License Center, and the Plugins & themes this licence includes. The state also shows at the bottom of the admin side menu and on the Dashboard.

To put in a key, or a new key, use the card Activate (called Change the licence key once a key is set): paste the key and press Activate on your-domain.

Domain binding

The key is tied to the domain of the Site address you gave the installer (it is kept as SITE_URL in config.php). www.example.com and example.com count as the same site, and a sub-folder does not matter. A sub-domain such as quran.example.com is a domain of its own.

Check now

The site checks with the License Center by itself, every 12 hours by default: through the License check scheduled job, and when the admin panel is opened after that time. The card License Center sets Check every (1, 6, 12 or 24 hours); leave its Address as it is unless support asks.

Press Check now to ask at once, for example after renewing. A check sends the key, the domain and address of the site, the server's IP address and the versions of Quran CMS and PHP. Nothing about your members.

What the states mean

The grace window

If license.faruk.bd cannot be reached (an outage, a firewall on your server), nothing changes at first. The site keeps working until the date under Works offline until, which is normally seven days after the last good check (the License Center decides the number). After that it shows Active (offline grace period) and keeps working for seven more days. Every successful check moves the date forward again.

Only if no check succeeds for that whole time does the site close, with the reason The License Center has not been reachable for too long.

A clear answer from the License Center counts straight away: a licence that has expired, been suspended or revoked, or belongs to another domain closes the site at the next check.

When the licence is not in order

• The public site closes. Every page shows a short notice in English and Bengali (This website is temporarily unavailable while its licence is renewed) with a Sign in link. Search engines are told to come back later.
• Signing in still works, and a signed-in administrator still sees the public site as normal.
• In the admin panel only the License page opens. Every other admin page shows Licence required with the reason and the buttons Open the licence page and License Center.
• The scheduled jobs and the updater keep running, so the licence check can put things right by itself.

Fix the cause on Admin → License and everything opens again at once.

Release this domain

Release this domain frees the key at the License Center: This domain has been released. The site stops working here until a key is activated again, so use it only when you move the site.

Moving to another domain

1. On the old site: Admin → License → Release this domain.
2. Move the files and the database to the new place.
3. In config.php, change SITE_URL to the new address.
4. Sign in on the new site, open Admin → License, paste your key and press Activate.

If the old site is already gone, release it from your account at license.faruk.bd instead.

Plugin & theme keys

Premium plugins and themes (in 1.5.0: Social Auto Post, Mobile App API and the Madinah theme) run when your licence includes them. They are included either with your package, or because you bought them on their own.

• Keys are fitted automatically. A plugin or theme bought for this site is delivered to it at the next licence check; press Check now to get it at once.
• Or add the key by hand. In the card Plugin & theme keys, paste the QCMP- key and press Add key.
• The table above the box lists every key with what it is for and when it was added. Remove takes a key off this site and frees it at the License Center.

On Admin → Plugins, a premium plugin your licence does not include shows a lock with two buttons: Unlock (the store at license.faruk.bd) and Add a key (this page). Once the key is in, switch the plugin on. See Plugins and themes.

A QCMP- key pasted into the main Activate box is refused. Premium plugins and themes also stop when the licence itself is not in order.
