The reader
A surah opens with its names and facts and the buttons Play the surah, Surah info and Make image / video. Two views: Translation (every ayah with pronunciation and translations) and Reading (the Arabic alone, শুধু আরবি in Bengali). The gear opens Reading settings (translations, pronunciation, Arabic script and size, translation size, reciter, tafsir); each visitor's choices are remembered on their device.
Every ayah has Play, Bookmark (members), Tafsir, Copy and Share. The player repeats ayahs or a range, adds the translation audio, and has a sleep timer.
What a new visitor sees first is set in Settings → Quran reading: translations and pronunciation for Bengali and English visitors, the Arabic font, sizes and script, the main translation of each language, and your own list for the ayah of the day.
Surahs
Quran → Surahs: Edit changes a surah's names, meaning, summary, its Surah Information page in both languages, and SEO. Restore bundled information fills empty information pages again.
Translations
Quran → Translations: drag to set the order, Switch off to hide one, the bin to delete one (the four core ones can only be switched off). Rewrite writes the Bengali or Hindi pronunciation again from the Arabic.
- Correct one ayah — choose the translation, surah and ayah, press Open, edit, Save this ayah. A corrected ayah is never overwritten later.
- Add more — one click downloads a whole edition (6,236 ayahs) from alquran.cloud or quran.com and keeps it on your server.
- Bundled data → Load again — restores the translations that came in the package.
Tafsir
Quran → Tafsir. Eleven tafsirs are ready after installation: four Bengali (Ahsanul Bayaan, Abu Bakr Zakaria, Ibn Kathir, Fathul Majid), three English, three Arabic and one Urdu. Their text comes from quran.com the first time an ayah's tafsir is opened and is then kept on your server. Download all fetches a whole tafsir at once; Open first chooses the one readers see first. You can also correct the tafsir of any ayah, or Add a tafsir of your own, written here ayah by ayah.
Reciters
Quran → Reciters lists every voice that can be played. Drag to order; Play first sets the default; Test plays 1:1. It comes with well-known reciters (Mishary Alafasy, Abdul Basit, Sudais, Shuraim, Husary, Minshawi and more), translation audio, and Syed Ismat Toha's Bengali translation with Abdul Basit's or Sudais & Shuraim's recitation.
Add reciter asks for the names, the kind (Quran recitation or Translation voice), language, style, a picture, an address name for /audio/name, and two address patterns:
- Ayah by ayah, for example
https://everyayah.com/data/Alafasy_128kbps/{sss}{aaa}.mp3 - Whole surah, for example
https://server8.mp3quran.net/afs/{sss}.mp3
{sss} is the surah and {aaa} the ayah, in three digits. For the server's own voice write tts:bn or tts:en.
Audio upload
Quran → Audio upload: choose the reciter and select the files, named 001.mp3 to 114.mp3 for whole surahs or 002255.mp3 for one ayah (surah 2, ayah 255). Files go up in 4 MB pieces, so large files are fine. Files copied by FTP into uploads/audio/<reciter>/ are picked up with Scan the folder. An uploaded file always plays instead of the address pattern.
Search
The search box (/search?q=) looks through the Arabic, every translation, the surah names, the blog and the lessons. Typing 2:255 or 36 jumps straight there.
Quran ayahs inside your writing
In any post, page or lesson, write [quran 2:255], [quran 2:285-286] or [quran 112]. The ayahs appear with the Arabic, the pronunciation and the meaning in the reader's language, and a link to read on. [quran 2:255 nopron] leaves the pronunciation out; long ranges stop at 30 ayahs. The editor's Quran & lesson blocks button writes the code for you.
Share images, and the image and video maker
Every ayah has its own picture for link previews on Facebook, WhatsApp and elsewhere (for example /og/2-255.jpg). Settings → Share images sets its colours, background picture, language, translation and bottom line.
/media turns any ayahs into a picture or a video: choose the translation, pronunciation, voice, reciter, background (or your own picture or video), fonts, colours, frame, and Story 9:16, Square 1:1 or Wide 16:9. Then Download image, Download every ayah as images, or Create video (keep the tab open while it records). Settings → Media studio sets the starting background, colours and voice, Who may use the image & video maker (everyone or signed-in members), whether your logo and website line appear, and a library of your own backgrounds.
Translation voices
There are no ayah-by-ayah recordings of the Bengali translations, so the server makes them with a Microsoft neural voice, always a man's, and keeps each file in cache/tts/. The reader, the videos, Ruqyah and the 99 names use them. Under Settings → Media studio → Voices — men only you switch Speak translations with a man's voice on or off, choose the voice of each language (Bengali: Pradeep or Bashkar), set the Speed (%) and press Listen for a sample. Without a key, the free voice service of the Edge browser is used; with your own Azure Speech key the same voices come from Azure.
