Getting started

The admin panel

On this page

The panel lives at https://your-site/admin, or at your own Admin panel path (Settings → Advanced). Sign in with the e-mail address and password you gave the installer. The panel is in English; the public site speaks ten languages.

While the licence is not in order, the menu shows only License and every screen leads there. See The licence key.

The menu

Dashboard and Notifications stand at the top, without a group.

Content: Pages (static pages and the landing page of each platform), Blog posts, Categories, Tags and Menus. See Pages, blog and menus.

Users: Users, the accounts visitors made on the public site; your admin account is not among them. See Member accounts.

Downloads

  • History and Blocked URLs — below.
  • Platforms — switch platforms on or off, their landing page and proxy use, and Test a link. See Platforms and modules.
  • Modules — the code that reads each platform; a new one is uploaded as a zip.
  • Proxies — proxies, server addresses and the Proxy pool. See Proxies and routes.
  • yt-dlp — installs yt-dlp and keeps it new. See YouTube and yt-dlp.

Plugins: appears when an enabled plugin has screens of its own (Messages, Reviews, Platform requests, Tools, What's new, App builder …). A red number counts what waits there.

Settings

The top bar

View site opens the public site in a new tab. The round half-dark button switches the panel between light and dark (this browser remembers it). Then the bell, and your name with Profile and Sign out.

The dashboard

Fetched links, counted per day in UTC.

  • Cards: Today, Last 7 days (against the week before), Last 30 days, All time, Platforms enabled and Scheduled tasks (the last cron run).
  • Downloads, last 30 days — a chart; 7d, 30d and 90d change the period.
  • Top platforms — the eight busiest of the period.
  • Latest downloads — the newest twelve rows of History.
  • System health — Everything looks good, or what needs you: a missing PHP extension, a folder that is not writable, a cron job silent for two hours, install.php still there, a database waiting for its update.
  • Setup checklist — a site name, a logo, CAPTCHA, the cron job, deleting install.php. Each open item links to its place.

The bell and Notifications

The bell counts unread notices and lists the newest eight. It looks again every 45 seconds, and a new notice also appears in a corner for a few seconds.

Notices come when someone makes an account, a message, review or platform request arrives, a platform refuses the server, yt-dlp was installed or updated, a new version of the script is out, an update ran, cron.php stays silent for a day, the licence needs attention, the disk is nearly full, errors reach the log, e-mail fails, or an admin signs in from a new address.

A notice that belongs to a screen puts a red number on its menu entry; opening the screen marks it read. Notifications lists everything (All, Unread) with Send a test, Mark all as read, Remove the read ones and Remove all. Read notices leave by themselves after two months.

Your profile

Your name → Profile: name, e-mail address, and a new password (Current password, New password, Repeat new password, at least 8 characters). The side shows your last sign-in and its address. Ten wrong passwords in five minutes lock an address out for a while.

History

Downloads → History lists every fetched link while Keep download history is on (Settings → General): title, platform, IP address, date. Search, filter by platform, Export CSV or Clear all. The cron job removes rows older than History retention (days), 30 by default.

Blocked URLs

For takedown requests and abuse: Downloads → Blocked URLs → New rule.

  • Pattern — for example youtube.com/watch?v=abc123.
  • Match type — URL contains, Whole domain (with its subdomains) or Regular expression.
  • Reason (internal) — a note for yourself.

A visitor who pastes a matching link reads This link cannot be downloaded.

The media library

Wherever the editor is (pages, posts, What's New), its Picture button offers Upload, Media library and From an address. Uploads go to uploads/: PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF or SVG up to 8 MB (an SVG with scripts is refused). Media library shows the pictures in uploads/, newest first, searchable by file name. It has no delete button: remove unused files with FTP or the File Manager.

Settings worth a look on day one

  • General — Site name, Default language, Language in the address, Timezone.
  • Logo & icons — logo and favicon.
  • E-mail — SMTP, then Save and send a test e-mail.
  • Users — who may make an account and what members get.
  • CAPTCHA — protects the download form.
  • Advanced — Admin panel path.
  • System check — the cron line, and Delete install.php.

Demo mode

For a public demo, remove the two slashes in front of this line in config.php:

define('AIOD_DEMO', true); // read-only admin panel for demo sites

Whoever signs in can open every screen, but nothing is saved (Demo mode: changes are not saved.), a note says so on every screen and the panel opens without a licence check. Put the slashes back to work normally.
