Getting started

The admin panel - first steps

On this page

Once your key is activated, the admin panel opens on the Dashboard. This chapter is a short tour, followed by the settings worth doing on the first day.

The sidebar

Each person only sees the entries their role allows; see Users, roles and sign-in rules. Dealers appears while the Dealer Network addon is on, Warranty and Claims & Replacement while Warranty & Guarantee is on. A small number beside Dealers, Support Tickets or Claims & Replacement counts what is waiting: applications to approve, open tickets, open claims. The foot of the sidebar shows the site name, the version and the licence state.

The top bar

From left to right, after the page title and the trail back to where you came from:

  • ☰ opens the menu on a phone.
  • The sync icon appears with the Online & Offline Sync addon: Sync now and Sync settings.
  • The globe opens your public website in a new tab.
  • The key opens License. Its colour is the licence state: green when active, amber in the grace period, red otherwise.
  • The language switch (English and বাংলা out of the box) when more than one language is on.
  • The bell shows the unread count. Mark all read and See all notifications are in its panel. Notices from the License Center arrive here too.
  • Your picture (or your initial) opens My profile (name, photo, password), Settings, License & support and Sign out.

The dashboard

Six cards across the top, each a link:

CardShows
DealersDealers, with sub-dealers and pending applications underneath
ProductsActive products, with serials in stock
Sales this monthInvoiced this month, with the number of invoices in total
Outstanding dueUnpaid on all invoices, out of the total billed
Open ticketsTickets waiting for a reply
Warranty claimsOpen claims, with active warranties

Addons add their own cards after these. Below them:

  • Sales — last 6 months, a bar for each month with invoices, and All invoices.
  • Recent invoices, the last eight, with + New invoice.
  • New dealers and Open tickets on the right.
  • Low stock, for products whose stock has fallen to their low-stock alert.
  • Warranties expiring soon, for the next 60 days.

Day one: Settings

Admin → Settings has six tabs, and links to Theme, E-mail and Data sync. Press Save settings at the bottom of each tab.

General

  • Site name and Tagline: the tagline is the big heading of the front page and appears on the sign-in screens.
  • Timezone: Asia/Dhaka to begin with.
  • Date format: four choices, each shown with today's date.
  • Currency code and Currency symbol: BDT and Tk to begin with.
  • Maximum upload size (MB).
  • Logo and Favicon: the installer put the faruk.bd logo here. Upload your own.

Company & invoice

  • Company name, Phone, E-mail, Website, Address. They appear in the front page footer and on documents.
  • Invoice prefix, Dealer code prefix, Ticket prefix, Warranty card prefix, Claim prefix. Numbers are built as prefix, year and a running number: INV-2026-0001. Change the prefixes before the first invoice.
  • Default invoice terms and Invoice footer line.

SMS gateway and WhatsApp are explained in E-mail, SMS and WhatsApp.

Dealer portal

  • Let new dealers apply from the public site
  • New applications must be approved by an admin
  • Dealers can see central stock levels
  • Dealers can raise their own invoices

Support contacts: Support e-mail, Support phone, Support WhatsApp number, Support hours. Your dealers see them, and so does a user whose sign-in is blocked outside the allowed hours.

Then open E-mail Setup: the sender address starts as your own e-mail, and mail is far more reliable from a mailbox on your own domain over SMTP.

The Theme screen

Admin → Theme (System group):

  • Colours: Brand colour (buttons, links, highlights), Accent colour (badges, secondary actions), Sidebar colour, Corner radius (px) and Font stack. Keep a Bengali-capable font such as Noto Sans Bengali in the list.
  • Logo & icons: Logo, Favicon (a square PNG of 64×64 or larger) and Sign-in background, with tick boxes to remove the logo or favicon.
  • Save the theme.
  • Ready-made palettes: Teal (default), Royal Blue, Emerald, Indigo, Crimson, Slate and Sunset, one click each. Reset to defaults puts the original back.

Live preview shows the saved theme. The theme applies to both panels, the front page and sign-in screens, printed invoices and warranty cards, and the frame of every e-mail.

The public front page

Your bare address shows the front page; a signed-in visitor goes straight to their own panel instead. It carries Dealer login and Admin login, your tagline with Apply for a dealership (while new dealers may apply), live counts of active dealers, products and brands, Brands we carry, a Where is my hearing aid? tracking box once repair or mould jobs exist, common questions, and a footer with the details from Settings → Company & invoice. More in The dealer portal and the front page.

A sensible order

  1. Activate the licence (The licence key and addon keys).
  2. Settings, E-mail Setup, Theme.
  3. Admin → Addons: switch on what you use.
  4. Staff accounts and roles.
  5. Brands, products and serial numbers (Brands, products and serial numbers), then the price list and your first dealers.
  6. The cron job (Scheduled jobs (cron)).
