Payment Gateway
This addon holds the ways your dealers can pay you: bKash, Nagad and Rocket for mobile wallets, bank transfer for larger amounts, cash at the office, and a payment link for card or international payments. Dealers see your numbers in their portal, pay, and report the payment with its transaction ID. You check it against your statement.
Switching it on
Payment Gateway is a premium addon. It runs when your licence package carries it, or when its own addon key is activated on this site. On Admin → Addons (in the System group of the sidebar) find Payment Gateway Addons and press Enable. If the card says Not included in your licence yet, use Buy this addon or I have a key; how keys arrive is in The licence key and addon keys.
Switching it on creates the list of payment methods and fills it with six starters, all switched off.
Payment Methods
Admin → Payment Methods (in the Addons group of the sidebar; the role needs Change system settings).
| Starter | How it works | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| bKash, Nagad, Rocket | Manual | Account type Personal; transaction ID required |
| Bank transfer | Manual | Account type Current; reference required |
| Card / international | Link | Sends the dealer to your payment page |
| Cash | Manual | Paid in person at the office; no reference needed |
A chip at the top says how many are switched on. Until at least one is, a yellow note says dealers cannot pay from their portal yet, and the dashboard shows a Payment methods card with none switched on yet.
Edit a method and fill in:
- Name, Code (made from the name when left empty) and Icon.
- How it works: Manual — they send money and give a reference, Link — send them to a payment page, or API — a gateway you have credentials for.
- What the dealer is told: the line shown under the method's name.
- For Manual: Account / wallet number, Account type (Personal, Merchant, Current…) and Account name.
- For Link: Link the dealer is sent to.
- For API: API endpoint, API key and API secret (an empty secret box keeps the saved one). This version only stores them; it does not charge through the gateway, so a dealer choosing this method still reports the payment for you to check.
- Minimum amount (0 = no minimum), Sort order, Status (Off or Offered to dealers), Require a transaction ID, and a Logo.
Switch on in the list refuses a manual method without an account number (cash excepted) and a link method without a link, so a dealer is never shown a method with nowhere to send money. The Status box on the edit form does not make that check, so fill in the number before you choose Offered to dealers. Switch off hides a method from dealers and × deletes it. + Add a method adds your own, such as a second bKash merchant number or a branch's bank account. If the list is ever empty, Add the usual methods brings the starters back.
The addon's settings
Admin → Addons → Payment Gateway Addons → Settings:
- Dealers can pay an invoice from their portal (on). Off removes the dealer's payment page; dealers then read Payments are recorded by the head office for your account.
- Accept payments without checking them first (off). Leave it off unless a gateway confirms the money for you. With it on, a dealer could clear an invoice by typing any reference.
- Show a "Pay now" button on the dealer's invoice (on). In this version the invoice page has no such button yet; dealers pay from the menu.
- Note shown above the payment methods: the instructions at the top of the payment page.
How a dealer pays
Without the Accounts addon
Dealer portal → More → Pay an Invoice. The page shows the total outstanding and one form:
- Which invoice: every unpaid invoice with its due amount. Choosing one fills in the amount.
- The methods that are switched on, each with your number, account type and account name, or an Open the payment page button for a link method.
- Amount paid, Transaction ID, Screenshot or receipt and Note, then I have paid.
The amount cannot be more than the invoice's due, the transaction ID is required where the method asks for one, and the method's minimum amount is checked.
With Accept payments without checking them first off (the default), the payment is added to the invoice's Payments received list, entered under the dealer's user, and everyone at head office gets a Payment to confirm notification that opens the invoice. The invoice's paid and due figures do not change. Check the transaction ID against your bKash, Nagad or bank statement.
There is no Confirm button in this case, and one thing to know: the next time anyone uses Record a payment on that invoice, its paid figure is worked out again from every row under Payments received, the dealer's report included. Do not enter the same money a second time.
With the setting on, the invoice's paid and due figures change at once and the notification says Payment received.
With the Accounts addon
When Accounts Management is on, Pay an Invoice leaves the menu and dealers use Dealer portal → More → Pay Dues instead. The methods listed there are the ones you switched on here. A reported payment waits in Admin → Payments due as pending until you Confirm or Reject it; a rejected payment is reported back to the dealer. The Payments waiting button on the Payment Methods screen opens that queue.
Tips
- Give dealer payments their own merchant or agent number, so matching a transaction ID is quick.
- Pay Dues shows each method's name, instructions, number and account type, but not the link button or the minimum amount. For a card link, put the address into What the dealer is told as well.
- Keep Accept payments without checking them first off for bKash, Nagad, Rocket and bank transfer: nobody checks a typed transaction ID except you.
- For a proper confirm-or-reject step and a running balance per dealer, switch on Accounts.
