The Dealer Management System runs on ordinary cPanel shared hosting. You do not need a VPS. The installer checks the important points itself before it lets you continue, so this list is mainly for choosing a host or for a question to your host's support.
The server

| Database | MySQL 5.7 or newer, or MariaDB 10.3 or newer. The tables use InnoDB and utf8mb4, so Bengali text is stored correctly. |
| Web server | Apache or LiteSpeed that reads .htaccess files. They keep config.php, includes/, database/ and the backups out of reach of the browser. A host that answers every page with an error 500 does not accept their php_flag lines; see Troubleshooting. |
| HTTPS | An SSL certificate on the domain. cPanel's free AutoSSL is enough. Browsers only let the Online & Offline Sync addon keep pages on the device when the site runs on https://. |
| Outgoing connections | The server must be allowed to reach https://license.faruk.bd. The licence is checked there; see The licence key and addon keys. |
| Cron | cPanel Cron Jobs, or any service that can open a web address on a timer. See Scheduled jobs (cron). |
PHP extensions
The first screen of the installer shows each of these with a tick or a cross, under exactly these names.

Without it the licence check falls back to allow_url_fopen, but several of the others stop working, among them short links and the updater. |
| ZipArchive (addon upload) | Recommended | Uploading an addon as a .zip, backups that include the uploads folder, and one-click updates. Without it you copy addons in by FTP, and the Backup & Restore addon saves the database alone as a .sql.gz file. |
Only the Backup & Restore addon needs two more, and only if you use those destinations: the ftp extension for FTP and ssh2 for SFTP.
On cPanel you switch extensions on under Select PHP Version → Extensions (or MultiPHP Manager on some hosts).
Folders that must be writable

On cPanel, 755 for folders and 644 for files is right. A few hosts need 775 for uploads/.
Upload size
Settings → General → Maximum upload size (MB) starts at 8 MB. PHP has its own limits as well, upload_max_filesize and post_max_size, under Select PHP Version → Options or the MultiPHP INI Editor. The smaller limit wins, so raise both when your product photos or ticket attachments are larger.
Where it can live
All of these work without editing a file:
- the main domain:
https://example.com - a sub-domain:
https://dealers.example.com - a folder inside either:
https://example.com/dms
The installer fills in the address it was opened at. Keep sw.js in the script's root folder, next to index.php; the offline working depends on it being there.
The licence key is bound to the domain the site runs on, so decide on the final address before you activate. Moving later is possible; see The licence key and addon keys.
The people using it
Head office staff and dealers need nothing but a current browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) on a computer or a phone. The panels fold their menu away on a small screen.
