Many distributors work through a second level: a dealer in Chattogram who supplies smaller shops in Cox's Bazar and Feni, for example. The Sub-Dealers addon turns your flat dealer list into that two-level network. A dealer can add their own sub-dealers from the portal, you approve them, and every sub-dealer gets its own code, price tier, invoices and portal sign-in.

Switching it on

Sub-Dealers is a premium addon. It runs when your licence package includes sub-dealer, or when you have bought it separately and its addon key is on this site.

  1. Open Admin → Addons. Without the key the card says Premium, its Enable button is greyed out (Not included in your licence) and it offers Buy this addon and I have a key.
  2. After you buy it on license.faruk.bd, the key arrives by itself at the next licence check. To fetch it at once, press Collect purchases now on Admin → License under Addon keys. A key bought elsewhere is pasted into Addon key there and saved with Add the key.
  3. Back on Admin → Addons, press Enable.

More about keys in The licence key and addon keys.

What it adds

  • Admin → Sub-Dealers, in the Addons group of the sidebar: the overview of every sub-dealer, for staff with the Manage sub-dealers permission.
  • Dealer portal → My Sub-Dealers: where a dealer adds and looks after their own.
  • The Sub-dealer choice in Type on Admin → Dealers → + Add a dealer, which stays greyed out while the addon is off.
  • A Sub-dealers card on your dashboard and a My sub-dealers card on the dealer's dashboard.

Its settings

Admin → Addons → Sub-Dealer Addons → Settings.

The dealer's side

Dealer portal → My Sub-Dealers → + Add a sub-dealer. The dealer fills in Shop name, owner or contact person, e-mail, phone, WhatsApp, address, city, district and notes. Under Portal login (optional) they can give the sub-dealer a Login e-mail and a Password of at least 6 characters, so the sub-dealer signs in to the portal on their own.

The dealer does not choose the code or the price tier; those come from your settings. The bar at the top shows how many they have (for example 3 / 5 sub-dealer(s) when you set a cap) and, when approval is on, New sub-dealers need head-office approval. At the cap they are told You have reached the maximum number of sub-dealers allowed on your plan.

The list shows each sub-dealer's code, contact, location, number of invoices and status, with Edit and ×. Removing one switches off its sign-ins; its history stays.

Nothing is e-mailed to the sub-dealer when a dealer adds them, so the dealer passes on the sign-in details themselves.

Approving

With approval on, a new sub-dealer and its login wait as Pending, and your bell shows New sub-dealer application. Open Admin → Sub-Dealers: the card Waiting for approval lists each one with its parent dealer, contact and when it was added. Approve makes the sub-dealer and its logins active and tells the parent dealer Sub-dealer approved.

The head-office overview

Admin → Sub-Dealers shows three figures (how many sub-dealers across how many dealers, how many await approval, and how much they owe on unpaid invoices) and then All sub-dealers, grouped under each parent dealer. Every row has the code, contact, location, invoices, the amount due and the status, with Edit (the full dealer form) and Suspend or Activate. Open in Dealers shows the same people on the Dealers list, filtered to sub-dealers.

You can also add a sub-dealer yourself on Admin → Dealers → + Add a dealer: set Type to Sub-dealer, choose the Parent dealer and the Price tier. A code left empty there is numbered with the dealer code prefix. See Dealer Network.

How a sub-dealer works

A sub-dealer is a dealer record with a parent. It signs in to the same dealer portal, sees the price list at its own tier, and has its own invoices, warranty cards, claims and tickets. Head office invoices a sub-dealer exactly like a dealer, on Admin → Invoices, once it is active. The parent dealer sees how many invoices each sub-dealer has, not the invoices themselves.

Other addons know about the second level too: a coupon can be limited to Sub-dealers only (Discounts & Coupons), and Accounts Management keeps a ledger for every sub-dealer.

Tips

  • Fill in the Sub-dealer price on your products before you invite sub-dealers: with the default tier, that is the column their portal shows. See Brands, products and serial numbers.
  • A cap of a few sub-dealers per dealer keeps a new network tidy; raise it as dealers prove themselves.
  • To take self-service away from your dealers without losing anything, untick Dealers may create their own sub-dealers. Existing sub-dealers keep working.
